Finally, 12

Dateline: July 10th (I'm a little behind as Justin so kindly noted in his last comment.)

Bryce has had a countdown going in his room for the last month, his sole wish for his birthday was a phone (that and never again having to stand with the Primary to sing in Sacrament Meeting). He could not wait. The rest of us could not imagine who he would have to talk to since he never calls anyone on the house phone. How wrong we were. Mr. Popularity. I guess our first clue should have been the near constant chatter he has going over XBox Live (you can play video games and carry on conversations with others playing at the same time). We succombed. He got right to work texting everyone he's ever known. I front loaded it by asking people to text his new phone with a birthday message, so that kept him busy most of the day. However, it was a mistake to give him the phone prior to the little birthday event (a trip to Mountasia with a few friends) since then he was tempted all day to "converse" with texting buddies rather than enjoy the friends present in the flesh. Anyway, here's his day:

First stop: go carts!

Bryce swore he had the slowest car on the track.

Next: bumper boats, followed by mini golf, video games and laser tag. Mountasia is kind of your one stop shop for kid fun.

Jeff loves Mountasia.

Pitstop at Farrell's for a little "fuel".

Tyler makes this face alot now for pictures (see below).
I don't know why, it's not really his best look.

Yeah baby, there's nothing like the Farrell's birthday song accompanied by the siren and big drum.

Ha! Bet you thought this was lunch! Actually, those are toasted coconut cookies (chicken fingers), ice cream with caramel sauce (mashed potatoes and gravy), and candies (peas and carrots). Louis and Matt thought it looked better than it tasted.

Of course, no trip would be complete without shopping for prizes. All the boys pooled their tickets for Bryce so he ended up with almost 1,000 tickets for his shopping pleasure.

Clearly, this is serious business, no time for pictures. See what I mean about that Tyler face?

What???? Somebody has already come up with Justin and Tyler's brainstorm for their next business! They were going to sell a whole line of air instruments--air guitars, air drums, air harmonicas, etc. on EBay. Only they were really going to make them out of .... AIR. They were in the process of looking for a manufacturer and everything! Oh well, I guess it's back to the drawing board!

I'm not sure this prize was really necessary at my house...

Good friends...Good day!
